At what age exactly do you know what you want to be when you grow up? Posed with “future” questions I found myself sitting in the waiting room at the North Island College waiting to speak with one of the admission councilors. After sharing what I do, what I want to do (for those who may not know me, I like to call myself a glass artist) I asked about the Business Administrative Degree with an Accounting Major, and how it differed from the Applied Business Administrative program. Although helpful in the comparison, she was confused by my interest.
It interests me slightly Ill admit, it certainly wouldn’t deem dream job on my list, but dream jobs on my list don’t pay for the dream life I hope to achieve one of these days. So why not train for something to pay for my expensive hobby and live happily ever after? I feel defeated on my attempt at fixing my future. I know accounting won’t be my passion, but it will buy me that house and jeep. I can’t be a nurse because I’m not sensitive enough to be nice to sick people. That and blood just makes me want to ralph. So what else is there?
In the meantime, Ill still research possible careers, try hard at the lottery, and keep sketching new ideas.
Did anyone watch the Secret Millionaire last night? The millionaire was Scott Jacobs who happened to visit a hot shop called Glass Roots and met some pretty unique ‘kids’ (young adults) who use their time learning glass instead of wondering the streets and getting into trouble. Anyway, it was a touching story not only because it was a hot shop he decided to help but he himself is an artist…
