Karlslund Manor and a little Glass

Yesterday we ventured out to the outskirts of Orebro to Karlslund Manor and Gardens where we saw a lot of horses and old stables.  It was built at the of the 16th century by Duke Karl.  It was then a Royal Farm, which supplies food and firewood to Orebro Castle. In the 1700’s Karlslund was bought by a farmer, 1800’s and agriculturalist leaving their memory behind is the color scheme and buildings and gardens they created.
Eventually Karlslund Manor became an all girls school, then was one of technological innovations, modernisation and rationalisation becoming something of an experimental workshop.  Among other things, Karlslund was on of the first power stations in Sweden.  Now it is owned by the municipality where horses are raised, a gallery, cafe, and museum are there for tourists and the locals.
I was fortunate to meet with Anna Hoggren a glass artist from Orebro who has a small gallery of her things in Karlslund.  We spoke for a few minutes where she showed me her new work, how her co-op with other glass artists worked, and the every day life talk of a glass artist thats actually pretty comparable to mine, and other glass acquaintance struggles.
After exploring we found ourselves at Pizza Hut for lunch.  Yep, Pizza Hut is here in Sweden.
