Annealing – it is the process of bringing your glass master piece down in temperature in a controlled state. Usually I just use the same program and give myself four hours of blow time and then the annealing oven does its thing.
Yesterday! First day back in the hotshop I took a little longer than the four hours – so I thought I did the math correct set my annealer to accommodate my longer blow slot. This was great until today when I arrived at 11am thinking my annealer would be down in temp and I was good to go… nope 300 degrees Celsius.
Needless to say I lost a day in the hotshop. Color me disappointed.
Yesterday in the hotshop I experimented quite a bit with my new colors that just arrived. Chakra colors: Purple, Cobalt blue, light blue, green, yellow, orange and red – I experimented with tidal balls and sea stars as well as an installation piece. The colors are bright with high energy.
I am looking forward to tomorrow!
