Tonis ramblings

Discovery Passage

This setting up gig in Parksville has proven well, but let me tell you, this ol’girl is tired! To add to things, you will find me at the Qualicum Market and Nanaimo one… Am I crazy? Maybe.
Next week should be busy, between setting up for markets, Dales Gallery in Victoria will be setting up for July & August months, which means I really have to get organized for that.  And, which was a happy surprise, my ‘Discovery Passage’ piece made it into the Sooke Fine Arts Show!

Side thought, whenever I go to second hand stores I keep my eyes open for handmade things, such as mugs or cups… pottery, glass doesn’t matter.  I just think of the artist who learned to make the item, and used their hands to create it… and then I feel an obligation to rescue it from the shelf.  I have quite a collection now.  Well today, I was in the local antique shop here in town, and there it was… a Toni Johnson ball.  It wasn’t quite the punch in the gut I had anticipated this dreaded moment to be.  I survived.  That is all.
