So I have this cousin, we were raised pretty much as sisters, eleven months apart… needless to say we’re pretty close. Anyway she tries to get me into scrapbooking, cooking… bingo but thats another story for another time.
So I mentioned to her that I was sandcasting and ran a few ideas by her in conversation, she was surprisingly interested in my passion and showed up on Tuesday for a lesson in sandcasting. So my assistant Katrina ran cousin Patti through the safety and gave her the job of torching.
By the time we put the last piece into the annealer her smile was huge, told me how awesome the experience was and was heading home to gather more stuff for the next time I casted.
Its nice to share something you love with your family and friends, and its extra nice when they take interest in it and start throwing ideas at you. Cousin Patti, a glass artist… who would have thought. I will keep you updated on this new journey I seem to be on… Look out CR this might not be a good combination to have around sand, hot glass and fire!
