One Year Eight Months

I would have told her my news first.  She insisted on that.  I would have told her what I was planning and asked her for advice.  I would have defended my ideas when she told me it would be hard and questioned my commitment to glass.  And I would have taken her to lunch while we discussed it, and even to view it in person. My Nanny was an artist and my biggest fan who proudly displayed my first glass pieces front and center.  My heart breaks when I think about not sharing this with her first because I think she’d be really excited for me.

I would have told her that as of December 2013 I will take possession of my new Studio space.  Its a big space big enough to house the hotshop, cold working shop, stained glass table, and torches.  I plan on being hot in January and participating in some shows for the Spring 2014.

I would like to thank my parents, there is no way I would even want to do this without them.  Dakota.  Randy.  My Uncle Dave you were the only one standing there when I needed you the most.  Chrissy & Joe you made it easy, and I will always remember what you did for me and my family.  I don’t mean to get all sappy.  At times it just becomes so overwhelming and I am just so very grateful to everyone who stood by and supported me.

I am looking forward to cranking the tunes and blowing glass.  Experimenting and sketching again.  Just thankful.
