Vicki and I are done! We are so thankful for such a successful weekend at the filberg lodge! What an incredible turn out and supportive bunch the comox valley is! What a fun weekend. it’s weekends like this that encourage us to keep making, inspire us to create more, and fulfill our creative minds.
This season Vicki expanded her tideline’s and created a more organic twist to them – driftlines. We sold out! They were a hit!
During my time in the hotshop I really wanted to blow sea urchins but couldn’t figure it out for weeks – until a jelly fish top went terribly wrong. The sea urchins were a hit! I cannot wait to get back into the hotshop and make more, improve them, add some color… the ideas are never ending!
TLG survived the Kris Kringle this past weekend, four days in Nanaimo with some amazing artisans! We set up our booth at Beban Park where thousands of people came through – and we saw some friendly faces we knew too! It was everything we had hoped and expected so thank you Nanaimo! And a big thanks to the Kris Kringle committee who put on a fantastic show. I think the singing bird/hockey player/toy story dude on stilts was my fav besides the Grinch – both had me laughing pretty hard!
Our Christmas sales are coming to an end for the year – if you missed us we will be set up this weekend at the Filberg Lodge in Comox for the Christmas at the Lodge and Holiday Market. We will be set up there both Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 4pm with some stained glass Angels and Fish, lampworked Christmas Tree Spiders, Driftlines, Tidal balls, Sea Stars and even a few blown Urchins.
Two more sleeps! TLG is super excited to be attending this years Kris Kringle Craft Market in Nanaimo this year at Beban Park. If you’re in the area there are 150+ artists in attendance – makes for a good show!
It starts on:
Thursday at noon – 9pm
Friday 10am – 9pm
Saturday 10am – 6pm
Sunday 10am – 5pm
What an incredible weekend! We are so thankful for such an amazing weekend spent at the Charles Dickens Christmas Craft Faire.
Getting into the holiday spirit, I wanted to share with you a new design from TideLine. Blown sea urchins – they are small measuring approx. 3″ across… designed for the tree!
Holidays are fast approaching for me – I have been counting down at work and some have asked “are you going somewhere?” and I answer yes, I am going to my happy place. Not that work isn’t happy – its work and I enjoy it, the people and the challenges but my happy place is my hot shop. When the furnace is cold, I think about what I can make next, how I can make myself better at the craft. I research youtube, pinterest, the glass forums, anything to learn more. I follow the glass museums and artists on facebook – I am certain that my happy place is the hot shop.
As most you know, Vicki is my business partner (also my dads wife, a k a my mother) we have been collaborating some ideas – we are almost ready to share with you. I usually don’t collaborate the blowing with Vicki – but she has been coming up with some pretty cool ideas so I ordered some new glass color – and not the usual colors I lean towards. I think the new line will be a hit! Stay tuned!
TideLine will be participating in the Artisans Festival at the Kitty Coleman Woodland Gardens in a few weeks!
