You may or may not know that the Loggers have been on strike for quite some time now, the struggles are real and our hearts go out to all of the effected families.
We saw “Loonies for Loggers” on the news one evening and it was just beautiful seeing the difference two woman could make! Loonies For Loggers was started on September 24 by Rona Doucette & Tamara Meggitt. Two wives of loggers who saw a need to support their fellow families. Loonies for Loggers is not a registered charity rather two women who saw a need and began raising money to help feed the families. We saw a need to connect families together and draw support from one another in anyway we can. Please note that Loonies For Loggers is not affiliated with either party in the ongoing labour dispute.
The forestry industry raised my family and TideLine.org wants to give back and show our support. We have right now until December 20 @10:30am an auction where 100% of the proceeds go to the Loonies for Loggers. How can you bid? Send Vicki or myself an email if you’re not on Facebook we will bid for you! Or join our Facebook Page and bid – what is it? It’s a PURPLE JELLY FISH up for bid.

A present from me to you. Let me explain myself first. My furnace is cold, which means hot glass is out of the question right now… so I have turned my focus on to crocheting, knitting, old movies and making jewelery from things that were going into the recycle bin. Old CD’s, credit and points cards, newspapers, and sour cream containers to name a few… and I have turned them into Guitar Pick Earrings. Yup I have gone from Glass Blower/Artist to Upcycler Guitar Picker Jewelery maker. I have tried my hand at the ol guitar… my “Walk the Line” sounded almost like it was suppose to… ok that was a lie. I suck at playing the guitar.
Anyway, I am giving away a pair of my “Upcycled Guitar Pick” earrings made from an old scratched up CD tomorrow afternoon on the FaceBook Fan Page, all you have to do is ‘Like’ the fan page, and then ‘Like’ this post, or the picture posted. Then a random name will be chosen and announced on the facebook fan page, the winner will have until Saturday evening to InBOx me their shipping address. Then on Monday I will beetle my butt down to the Post Office and send you my creation. That is all.
Our last auction was deemed a success on our Face Book Fan Page, so today at NOON there will be another one starting with a new selection of .925 Silver Jewellery. Feel free to join our page and bid, all the jewellery on there is genuine stones, and .925 Silver. Beautiful pieces.
This weekend is quiet for the Tide Line crew, but will be in attendance at the Parksville Market Tuesday night… more details to come. Enjoy your weekend, hopefully the sun will show its warm side for us too!\
