Gratitude

I am so thankful for all your kind words of encouragement and support.  Its August now, half way through the summer season and still kickin’.

Telegraph Cove was a fantastic day, the sun was shining, and friendly faces were saw! Telegraph Cove is one of those hidden secrets on Van Isle I think.  I think that place should be on everyones Bucket List at least once.  I love the history.  The environment.  And the laid back atmosphere.  Thank you to Telegraph Cove for hosting another successful craft day on the boardwalk! See you next year!

The Sooke Fine Arts Show 2012 is coming to an end sadly.  I just wanted to express my thanks for all the kind words I’ve gotten over the past weeks.  I was so excited to be accepted into the show, and then anxious and nervous.  The caliber of artists who participated was amazing.  So grateful to be a part of it, and already thinking of what next years entry will be.

And a cool experience I have to share with you that happened to me last week.  I was bringing down some new work for display at the Salish Sea Market in Bowser.  And probably not a attractive quality I have, but nevertheless I was nervous to show my pieces… the artists that are on display in this gallery I feel a tad intimidated by they are so creative and great at what they do.  Anyway, I had blown a cylinder shape vase with my usual lagoon blue and lagoon green swirl, and engraved a Jelly Fish (if you can believe that!) onto the entire outside surface.  It was one of my favorites.  As I unwrapped it from the packing, a customer took notice and before I could set it down to see if the owner of the gallery was interested, said Ill take that one please.  Totally made my whole day.

I trust everyone is enjoying their long weekend, slathering on the sun screen, and smiling lots! We will be in Parksville tomorrow evening if you’re out and about, come say hey!
